Terrain, DEM, cover types definition and simulation conditions

MOSAIC simulation runs for H.J.Andrews forest (HJA) for various landscape cell sizes, terrain combinations and cover type definitions.

Spatial resolution:

The HJA DEM (539x371 cells of 30 m x 30 m) is simulated.

This original DEM is processed in neighborhoods of 3x3, 5x5 and 7x7 cells to obtain larger cells of size 90 m x 90 m, 150 m x 150 m and 210 m x 210 m.

Terrain types or classes :

Two sets of terrain positions are used by combinaing different classes of elevation, aspect and slope:

72 positions 220 positions
Elevation(m) 500,700,900,1100,.1300,1500 6 500,600,700,800,900,1000,1100,1200,1300,1400,1500 11
Slope(Percentage) 25, 50 , 75 3 30,45,60,75,100 5
Aspect(degrees) 0,90,180,270 4 0,90,180,270 4

Cover types or states:

Two sets of states are used, one with 6 states and another with 8 states defined according to the following tables.
